When you visit EventStir you provide us with two types of information: (i) personal information that you knowingly choose to disclose to EventStir and (ii) information that is collected by EventStir as you use EventStir's Service. In addition, when you become a Registered User, as defined in EventStir's Terms of Service, you provide us with certain personal information (such as your name, email address, gender, and your preference information).
When you use EventStir's Service, EventStir collects information relating to your browser type and Internet Protocol (IP) address. In addition, we store certain information from your browser using cookies. A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's computer tied to information about the user. We use session ID cookies to confirm that Users, as defined in EventStir's Terms of Service, are logged in, which terminate once the User closes the browser. By default, we also use a persistent cookie that stores your login ID (but not your password) to make it easier for you to login when you used EventStir's Service. You can remove or block this cookie using the settings in your browser if you want to disable this convenience feature.
You post Content, as defined in EventStir's Terms of Service, at your own risk. Although EventStir allows you to set privacy options that limit access to your Content, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. EventStir cannot control the actions of other Users with whom you may choose to share your Content. Therefore, EventStir cannot, and does not, guarantee that your posted Content will not be viewed by unauthorized persons. Also, EventStir is not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained in its Service. You understand and acknowledge that, even after removal, copies of your Content may remain viewable in cached and archived pages or if other Users have copied or stored your Content.
Any improper collection or misuse of information provided on EventStir is a violation of the EventStir's Terms of Service and should be reported to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you use our invitation service to tell a friend about EventStir's services, EventStir will ask you for information needed to send the invitation, such as your friend's email address. EventStir will store this information to automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit the Website, to register your friend if your invitation is accepted, and to track the success of EventStir's referral program. Your friend may contact us at email@example.com to request that EventStir remove this information from its database.
EventStir may also collect information about you from other sources, such as other Users through the operation of EventStir's Service (e.g., event joining) in order to provide you with more useful information and a more personalized experience.
By using EventStir, you are consenting to have your personal data transferred to and processed in the United States. Children Under the Age of 18.
EventStir does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 18. Due to payment requirements, If you are under the age of 18, please do not attempt to become a Registered User or send any information about yourself to EventStir (including your name, address, telephone number, or email address). No one under the age of 18 may provide any personal information to EventStir or on EventStir's Services. In the event that we learn that an individual under the age of 18 has joined an event we will contact the credit card holder and individual.
When you become a Registered User, you create your own profile, manage your privacy settings and sharing controls, and post Content. You specify how you wish to share this information and Content by using EventStir's privacy settings and sharing controls. EventStir may occasionally use your name and email address to send you notifications regarding new Services offered by EventStir that we think you may find valuable.
Your profile information (i) is used by EventStir primarily to present it back to you for review and editing when you access EventStir's service, (ii) is available to others who you have permitted to view such information by using your privacy settings and sharing control, and (iii) is available to Users who you have permitted to view such information by using your privacy settings and sharing control who belong to EventStir Community to which you belong. In addition, other Users may be able to view your profile or Content and comment on or rate it to the extent that you have permitted such action by using your privacy settings and sharing control.
If you set your privacy settings or sharing controls to share your name, network names, and profile avatar, this information will be available in search results across the EventStir network and may be made available to third party search engines. This is primarily so your friends can find you and send an invitation request. People who see your name in searches, however, will not be able to access your profile information unless they have a relationship to you via the sharing controls or based on your privacy settings.
EventStir may send you Service-related notifications from time to time through the general operation of the Service. For instance, if a friend shares a photo you may receive an email or other form of notification alerting you to that fact. Generally, you may opt out of receiving such notification email by using your privacy settings, though EventStir reserves the right to send you notifications about your account even if you opt out of all voluntary email notifications.
EventStir may share information in your profile with third parties without identifying you as an individual. We do this for purposes such as aggregating how many Users like a announcement, an event, or organize events and personalizing advertisements and promotions. EventStir believes that this benefits you while also protecting your privacy. For example, if you create and host a lot of events, EventStir might highlighting a similar event in your area. EventStir will not, disclose any identifying information to advertisers.
EventStir may use information about you that it collects from other sources, such as Facebook and other Users through the operation of EventStir's Service (e.g., event suggestions) to supplement your profile information. EventStir generally allows you to specify in your privacy settings or via sharing controls that you do not want this to be done or to take other actions that limit the connection of this information to your profile.
EventStir is about sharing your information and Content in the way you want and with whom you want. EventStir's Services provide you with privacy settings and sharing controls that can restrict other users from accessing your information and Content. EventStir's product architecture, your privacy settings, and your sharing controls allow you to make informed choices about who has access to your information and Content.
When you use EventStir's Services, you may set your privacy settings or sharing controls to share certain information with other Users. All such sharing is done at your own risk. Please keep in mind that if you disclose personal information in your profile or when posting content, that information may become publicly available.
Access to and control of most your personal information on EventStir is readily available through EventStir's profile editing tools. Users may modify or delete any of their profile information or content at any time by logging into their account. Information will be updated immediately. Users who wish to deactivate their EventStir account may do so by making a request to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note that information removed from EventStir's Website may persist in backup copies for a reasonable period of time but will not generally be available to EventStir's Users.
EventStir takes precautions to protect its Users' information. Your account information is located on a secured server behind a firewall. When you enter sensitive information (such as your credit card number or your password), EventStir encrypts that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL). Credit card information is encrypted and handled through our third party payment processor, Stripe.
Because email and instant messaging services are not recognized as secure communications, EventStir requests that you not send private information to it by email or instant messaging services.
